Find the gap.
Close it.
Move on.

Scaffold Learner diagnoses exactly which skill someone is stuck on, then gives targeted practice until it's genuinely mastered — not just correct once.

How mastery is measured
3 of 5 in a row

A skill isn't marked mastered until it's answered correctly five times in a row — one lucky guess doesn't count, and a wrong answer resets the count. That's the actual bar every skill in Scaffold Learner has to clear.

K-12

Built for homeschool families, K-12

From counting in kindergarten to algebra in high school, every student starts where they actually are and moves forward one mastered skill at a time.

We're still building

Scaffold Learner is being worked on all the time, so things may look a little different from one day to the next. Have a request or an idea? We'd love to hear it. Once you're signed in, you can send it on the Feedback page.

What's new

The latest changes and new features, newest first.

  1. New Arcade game: Ribbut

    • Hop a friendly frog over the road, ride logs and turtles across the river, and fill all five lily-pad bays. Find it in the Arcade.
  2. Arcade leaderboards

    • Every Arcade game now has a top 10 list. You will see it before you start a turn and after a turn ends, along with where your score landed.
    • Only first names and a last initial are shown, like Caden G.
  3. No daily limit on Arcade plays

    • You can play as many Arcade games as you have tokens for. Each play still uses 5 tokens and lasts about 5 minutes.
  4. New Arcade game: Coin Runner

    • Ride the rails in 3D, grab coins, and dodge crates, barriers and signs. Find it in the Arcade.
  5. A simpler menu

    • Practice, Progress and Modules now live together under one Learn menu at the top of every page.

  1. A fresh look for the Progress page

    • The Progress page has a bright, colorful new look: module cards with bigger progress bars and clear status chips for each skill.
    • The grade-level prompt got the same cheerful style.
  2. Progress emails

    • Parents get a short summary on weekday evenings, and a weekly report with a PDF on Saturday mornings.
    • Turn either one off, or set your time zone, on the account page.
  3. Share your math story

    • A new page where signed-in users can submit a math story of their own.
    • Stories are reviewed before anything is shared.
  4. New Arcade game: Sky Hopper

    • Hop Puff through the gaps between the pillars and steer around the friendly Gloops.
    • It costs the same tokens as Snake, and more games are coming.
  5. Placement check-in

    • A new student gets a short, friendly check-in, with no score, that helps pick the right starting module.
    • Students who are already in a module aren't asked to take it.
  6. Skills unlock in order

    • In a module, the skills one grade below come first, so each new skill has the groundwork it needs.
    • A parent can skip a skill from the account page if their student already knows it.
  7. One module at a time

    • Each student now works on one module at a time, so there's less to juggle.
    • A student can pause a module and switch to another whenever they like. Their progress is kept, and they can pick up where they left off.
  8. Arcade

    • A place for a short break between modules. It starts with Snake, and more games are coming.
  9. Tokens

    • Earn a token for each question answered correctly on the first try.
    • Spend tokens to play in the Arcade. You'll hear a cha-ching, and the token flies into your Bank at the top of the page.
    • Parents can add or remove tokens on the account page.
  10. Parent PIN

    • The account page is now protected by a 4-digit parent PIN, so the parent is the one who manages tokens and settings.
    • Students don't need the PIN to practice or play.
  11. Resources page

    • A new page for downloadable documents. The first ones are on the way.
  12. Still-building notice

    • We're improving Scaffold Learner every day. Once you're signed in, you can send ideas and requests on the Feedback page.
  13. Next lesson button

    • When a skill is mastered, one button takes you straight to the next lesson. The dashboard has a Continue button too.
    • Skills your diagnostic showed as gaps come first.
  14. More ways to type an answer

    • Algebra questions now accept more of the correct ways to write the same answer, like different spacing, order, or notation.
  15. More pictures in questions

    • Questions can now show angles, combined shapes, 3D solids, coordinate grids, number lines, and more.
